Olay is a company that is well known and respected in the world of cosmetics. They make everything from anti-aging creams to facial cleansers and beyond. Within the past year or so they released a new line of skin care products known as White Radiance. This line includes cleansers, moisturizers, treatments, and softeners that are designed to work together to brighten and rejuvenate the skin. Today we will be reviewing the products within the Olay White Radiance line.
QUICK VERDICT: Overall, White Radiance products are somewhat mediocre and provide mixed results. Some people saw great improvements in their skin and lightening while others didn’t see much at all. CLICK HERE to check the current prices on White Radiance cosmetics at Amazon.
Olay White Radiance Review
As mentioned above, there are several different products within the White Radiance line by Olay. These include:
- White Radiance Purifying Foaming Cleanser
- White Radiance Cellucent White Essence Water
- White Radiance Cellucent White Essence
- White Radiance Cellucent Eye Brightening Serum
- White Radiance Cellucent Intensive Brightening Serum
- White Radiance Cellucent White Cream
- White Radiance Ultra UV Blocker SPF 50
- White Radiance Night Whitening Cream
- White Radiance Cellucent Fairness Whitening and Soothing Mask
- White Radiance Spot Corrector
One of the really odd things about this collection is that it seems to only be found on Amazon and the .sg (Singapore) version of the Olay website. It’s not even listed at all on Olay.com, just Olay.com.sg. So it’s possible that this line was originally created for a specific region and not necessarily a worldwide launch.
Either way, the line is made of several products that are supposed to get rid of things like dark spots, age spots, and other pigmentation issues on the skin. They’re also formulated to hydrate and brighten the skin to improve your overall complexion.
The prices vary quite wildly for these products, but they are moderately priced.
Our Review of White Radiance
From the tests we’ve performed with the products in the Olay White Radiance line we have concluded that these products are mediocre at best. Some of them appeared to slightly improve skin issues but this was after several weeks of use and others within the line did absolutely nothing. Considering how much these cosmetics cost they don’t give you much bang for your buck.
There are definitely better performing skin lighteners out there (such as Meladerm cream or Illuminatural 6i) that provide far greater results in less time and for the same cost. So, in our opinion, the White Radiance line is a bust if you’re looking for something that will really fade dark spots on your face or other body parts.
Our Top 3 Skin Brightener Picks
|Illuminatural 6i||1.7oz||Superb results; fast-acting||4.8 out of 5|
|Meladerm||1.7oz||Great for dark spots; made with natural plant extracts||4.5 out of 5|
|Revitol Skin Brightener||2.0oz||Good option for hyperpgimentation; very affordable||4.0 out of 5|
Most of the products within the White Radiance skin care line are made of very similar ingredients. Since there are multiple products being discussed here we’re not going to provide a list for every single one but here are some of the active ingredients found within a few components of the White Radiance line:
- Stearic Acid
- Sodium Lauroyl
- Myristic Acid
- Potassium Hydroxide
- Butylene Glycol
- Titanium Dioxide
Nothing really out of the norm to be found here. Nearly every cosmetic product out there has at least one of these ingredients. So the formula is fairly basic but it is worth noting that there are no really potent skin whitening agents to be found in these products. That basically means that they weren’t designed to be very effective in the first place.
Customer Reviews of Olay White Radiance
For every product we review here on The Derm Report we like to dig up actual customer reviews so you can get a clear idea of whether or not the product works. This will help you decide if any of the White Radiance cosmetics might be something you should try.
Here are some of the reviews we found:
This is just a small sampling of what we discovered online. Tons of people have left feedback stating that they never saw any changes in their skin after using White Radiance products. Others went on to say that they hated it because it left their skin very oiling and even caused acne breakouts. There were also a few that said they had allergic reactions after using White Radiance but these were far and few inbetween.
Where to Buy White Radiance
In case you’re still interested in trying out one of the products in the Olay White Radiance line you can still get it. We’re not sure why but it seems the only place you can get any of the White Radiance components is on Amazon. They aren’t listed for sale on the official Olay website but the company does sell the line through Amazon.
As we mentioned above, the prices vary greatly depending on what component you intend to buy. The specialty treatments are the most expensive.
Because this line has been proven to be ineffective when it comes to actually whitening the skin you should look into other products for these needs. In our opinion the best skin lightening products are Meladerm and Illuminatural 6i. These are both made of ingredients that are easy on the skin but still work very well for getting rid of dark spots and other similar problems.
We’ll be reviewing several other skin lighteners over the next few weeks so be sure to come back and see if anything else might work better for you.
