One of my pet peeves about cleansers is that far too many exfoliate the skin to roughly, and sometimes I don’t feel like they leave any hydration behind. You might think I’m just talking about your standard $10 Walmart cleanser, but I’ve seen this and far more expensive products from name brands.
I guess this is okay if you go right behind it with a quality moisturizer and put the hydration back in, but it can’t be healthy for your skin. Not to mention, you’re paying for two products when it should only take one to get the job done. This is exactly why I think you’re going to like the Resurgence Renewing Cleansing Cream.
Murad makes a complete line of high quality skincare treatments, and I’ve been a huge fan of their Resurgence line for a long time. This renewing cleansing cream is just one of the six products that make up the Resurgence system, and I’d happily recommend all of them to you if you’re looking for a coordinated anti-aging beauty routine backed by research and reputation.
Papaya enzymes handle deep exfoliation without the irritation of an abrasive scrub. This cleanser is loaded with algae extract to soothe your skin, hydrating it and leaving it soft to the touch for a full day.

The Score – Murad Resurgence Renewing Cleansing Cream
It’s no secret that I’m a fan of Murad beauty products. They use quality ingredients at a reasonable price, and everything that I’ve ever bought from them lasts at least as long as competing creams, lotions and treatments.
For example, with this cleanser it takes a dab even smaller than that of a pencil eraser to thoroughly moisturize my face. Because of that, a tube of this last me several months of twice daily use.
I did see a couple of reports on Amazon where people said that they were turned off by the smell of the cream, but I did not feel that way. To me it has a light, breezy odor that I don’t even notice after five or 10 minutes of having it on.
You may want to use more of it if you spend a lot of time in the sun. For me, that’s not the best prescription for my skin, so I can probably get by with using less of this than the average person.
Either way, we’re talking about a cleanser with far more quality than you’ll find in your typical drugstore aisle, and so I’m comfortable giving this a near-perfect 4.6 out of five stars.
Like always, I feel that my reviews are stronger when I balance my own opinion out with what verified purchasers are saying over at Amazon. And here’s what I found over there.
At the time of this writing, there are 238 product reviews for this cleansing cream. 185 of them (78%) give it a full five stars, which is an amazing performance for beauty product. My rule of thumb for this is at least 60%, based on the fact that it’s really hard to please a majority of people so much with so many options available on the market.
But when any kind of a skincare treatment reaches 78%, you can be pretty sure that there’s an excellent chance it will work for you. Here are some of the specific reviews that I thought had enough detail to be worth highlighting:
This is another Murad product that I really love. It is so gentle on my skin, but I know that it is cleansing thoroughly because I always swab my skin lightly with rubbing alcohol after using any skin cleanser to make sure that I have gotten all traces of makeup off. I never have to repeat a cleansing when using this product and it never leaves my skin feeling tight and dry like some cleansers will tend to do to your skin. It only leaves my skin feeling refreshed!
I am not a beauty queen, I tend to grab whatever soap is near and wash my face. But I started noticing that my skin was blotchy and a little dry.
I saw this product in my dermatology office so I looked it up on Amazon ($7 cheaper) and bought it. LOVE the difference in my skin. It’s creamy and a little goes a long way. I realize anything is better than a bar of soap, but this far exceeded my expectations. My skin looks and feels better already!!
Other Online Reviews/Testimonials
You can also locate reviews on the official Murad website. They are also, as you might expect, complementary of the product too. The average review score there is higher than it is on Amazon, but that’s not uncommon. Most manufacturer websites go out of their way to present their own products in the best possible light.
If there’s one negative about the Murad products, it has to be their lack of a comprehensive guarantee. I fully admit that I’ve never had to return one, but I always feel better when a skincare company has a clear return policy.
I know from all of the emails and chat messages that I get, that I’m not alone in feeling this way.
Where to Buy
You won’t find a money back guarantee by buying this direct from the Murad website.
For that reason, and most of you know this, I recommend buying your beauty products from Amazon whenever possible. I have found the discounts to be the best, and as a prime subscriber, everything comes with two day delivery.

How Do You Use It?
It’s best to use this as part of your daily beauty routine, ideally applying in the morning after showering and at night before bed. Just gently massage it into your skin so that the exfoliation is smooth and complete. After that, rinse it off and then apply the hydrating toner if you’re using the full system.
This cleanser has been tested on humans (not pets!) and is perfectly safe for even super-sensitive skin. They do warn against getting it in your eyes. I did accidentally get some in my eye while using it to remove my eye shadow and noticed no irritation – but I did rinse my eye out very quickly as a precaution.
There are no warnings for those who are either pregnant or breast-feeding, so you can feel safe continuing to use this cleanser. There is, however, the standard warning to keep this away from children.

Moisturizers are a crucial part of any anti-aging routine, so we’ve recommended several in the reviews on this site. Murad, however, is an exceptional brand and there’s a lot of quality packed into the ingredients of this cleanser.
For that reason, I can’t really recommend a specific alternative. Try this, and if it does not meet your requirements, simply return it @amazon.com for a refund.
The Full Murad Resurgence Line
This is a list of all six products that make up what’s known as the Resurgence beauty system from Murad. I did not put them in any particular order, but it’s meant to be a full morning and night time beauty routine to help prevent aging.
