If you have dark spots on your face and uneven skin tone, you may be suffering from a very common skin condition called hyperpigmentation. This occurs when the pigment cells try to defend your skin against threats like sun rays and UV radiation. Hyperpigmentation develops particularly when an injury from a cut or a pimple is in the process of healing, but it can also show up due to aging.

We can conclude that this is definitely a safe and useful option to deal with those annoying dark spots and irregularities of your skin. We still prefer products like Meladerm, but Mela-D is an excellent choice. It provides clear, visible results within a matter of just a couple of weeks and works on all skin types.
MUST TRY BUT BE CAREFUL
Apart from lacking hydroquinone, this product is paraben-free and non-comedogenic. This means that it can be applied on almost any kind of skin, including sensitive types.
Another great advantage is that the Mela-D Pigment Control serum has a significant quantity of kojic acid, the main ingredient that makes the skin look radiant and smooth. This acid effectively minimizes skin discolorations and reduces spots by 48% after only three months of treatment.
One common complaint about the Mela-D Pigment Control serum is its quantity of alcohol. Alcohol generally dries and irritates all types of skin, and can even provoke the death of skin cells.
In addition, the serum contains an alpha hydroxy acid (AHA), which is an ingredient that can make your skin much more sensitive. That is why you need to apply UVA-UVB protection during the day while using this product, in order to protect your skin from the sun and prevent sunburns and irritation.
Another disadvantage of this product is that, although it has enough kojic acid to lighten the skin, there are many other products such as niacinamide, vitamin C and hydroquinone which are more effective as lightening agents. Some scientific studies have shown that kojic acid is not a very stable ingredient and may have a negative impact on the skin cells.
However, La Roche-Posay is a skincare line that meets the highest medical standards, which means that its products are generally pure and efficient. When it comes to health care, it’s better to choose quality products, even if that means spending more money than expected.
The main ingredients of this serum are:
Kojic Acid – Produced by several species of mushrooms, this acid naturally lightens the skin by reducing dark spots and discolorations.
Glycolic Acid + LHA (LIPO-HYDROXY ACID) – These two agents thoroughly exfoliate each cell of the skin, while removing the dead ones and boosting skin freshness and radiance.
Thermal Dermobiotic Extract – This ingredient helps to calm the skin, minimizing its sensitivity and avoiding possible irritation.
The serum must be applied on the washed face and neckline every night. Don’t forget to use sunscreen during the day to avoid sunburns and irritation.
Mela-D Pigment Control Reviews
According to most customers’ reviews, the clinically-proven Mela-D Pigment Control serum has shown to be effective for most people who suffer from hyperpigmentation.
If you take appropriate precautions and protect your skin from the sun every day, this serum will definitely help you even your skin tone and make your face look smooth, fresh and radiant.
I highly recommend this product
This product works very well on pigmentation skin. I have moderate amounts of freckles and this product helps with lightening them. The only complain that I have is there is often dried up lotion crumble up around the rim and they fall off when I open the bottle.
If anyone want to lighten their pigmentation skin, I highly recommend this product. It works and costs less than most skin lighteners.
Very Good. Recommend it.
Okay so I used this last year for severe acne hyperpigmentation. It worked great except I didn’t use sunscreen so I hindered the process. So I purchased again because I have dark laugh lines. This is my 5th week and it is doing a good job. I’d hope I would not be able to see them by now, but they are still there except not as bad. I would recommend you try it for the 8 weeks ( be patient ) . So far, so good . I am a 17 year old with sensitive skin, so I’d definitely use a moisturizer after 5 minutes of applying it.
How to Use La Roche-Posay Mela-D Pigment Control
Fill the dropper with serum and apply at night on face, neck and decollete to visibly improve the appearance of dark spots.
Not impressed with Mela-D? It’s not for everyone. It doesn’t always provide the desired results for every single user, and, due to the chemical make-up of the product it can cause irritation on certain individuals.
No need to fear, though – there are plenty of other options that work well.
The product we recommend most for dealing with dark spots and other forms of hyperpigmentation is Meladerm Skin Lightener. Read our review of Meladerm to learn why we recommend it above all other topical creams.
There’s also the option of going the natural route. This involves using natural ingredients such as fruits, vegetables, spices, and other naturally occurring substances to create creams, face masks, and other beauty products designed to lighten the skin.
We suggest reading a book called Skin Whitening Forever by Eden Diaz to learn more about the different natural treatment options available for diminishing dark spots and brightening the skin.
